About Prajwala
Born and raised in Bangalore, India, Prajwala’s deep-rooted connection to classical Indian music and dance began at an early age, growing up in a South Indian family where the arts were revered and celebrated. Beginning her Kathak training at a young age, she has spent over a decade immersing herself in this graceful and intricate dance form.
Prajwala is a dedicated disciple of the esteemed Guru Rachana Upadhyay (disciple of Dr Puru Dadhich ji) of the Kathak Kala Academy in Los Angeles, where she has honed her skills in both technique and expression. Her foundational training was with Guru Prerana Deshpande at the renowned Nrityadham School of Performing Arts in Pune, one of the leading institutions in India for classical dance.
With over 10 years of committed practice and performance experience, Prajwala now channels her passion and expertise into teaching and sharing the art of Kathak. She strives to inspire a new generation of dancers, passing on the rich traditions of storytelling through rhythm, movement, and grace that Kathak embodies.
